Normalie Strickland

Normalie Strickland, 81, of Effingham, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Willowbrook in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.

Memorial donations may be given to the donor’s choice.

Normalie was born January 12, 1938, in Effingham, the daughter of Leo J. and Josephine (Lidy) Richards. She married Joseph Strickland. He preceded her in death in 2014. Normalie was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and was a librarian for the Helen Matthes Library in Effingham for many years.

She is survived by her three sisters, Victoria (Len) Kispert-Quirk, of West Chicago; Debora Richards, of Effingham; and Tama (Bill) Price, of Watson; and brother, James (Lori) Richards, of Divernon.

Normalie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three infant brothers, Edgar, David and Tommy.
