Moccasin Creek Festival Promoter Bill Poss has announced that the Moccasin Creek Festival will be a four-day event this year.
“I realized that Thursday, June 21, is the Summer Solstice, so I thought, let’s have a party!” Poss said.
There is no ticket for the Solstice Party, which starts at 5 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. But there is a $10 entry fee. Weekend Passes for the festival include the Thursday entry fee.
The festival is scheduled for June 21-24. Advance tickets are on sale now and the lineup is posted at the website www.moccasincreekfestival.com.
The lineup for Thursday will include Reverend Robert (Charleston), Sarah Beatty (Ontario, Canada), Wildflower Conspiracy (Greenville) and The Mighty Pines (St. Louis).
There are a total of 28 acts performing at this year’s Moccasin Creek Festival.
“We have a sting-band heavy lineup this year, and I can’t wait to see the fireworks.” Poss noted. “Billy Strings is the hottest guitar picker in the country; the Steel Wheels are top flight pickers with great songs and amazing harmonies; and then you have Chain Station, The Tillers, Old Salt Union and the Mighty Pines. Buckle up! It’s going to be a wild ride.”
The lineup has a lot of variety, including songwriters and storytellers like David Olney, Chicago Farmer, Sarah Beatty, Brock Zeman, Chuck Hawthorne, Charlie Roth, Matt Poss and Rod Picott; rock bands like The Bottle Rockets, Greg Klyma, Taylor Steele and the Love Preachers and CATL; acoustic duos LP and the Honeybee, Wildflower Conspiracy, Heather and Marty and the Greyhounds; and country band Amanda Anne Platt and the Honeycutters.
