The Effingham County Heaters 15U baseball team played a total of four games Thursday and Friday and split them.

They opened with a nine-hit attack Thursday night and posted a 10-5 victory over the ISA Stars Black.

The Heaters scored two runs in the first and fourth innings and added six more in the third to open a 10-1 lead. Bradin Baucum, Logan Antrim and Jackson Lee each had two hits. Lee and Preston Latch both had two RBI. Brayden Pals was the winning pitcher.

Effingham County opened Friday’s play with another win, an 11-1 romp over the Georgia Fighting Hogs.

The Heaters had a pair of four-run innings to take command. They had seven hits and received 10 walks in the contest. Brennyn Cutts had a double and drove in three runs. Christian Raddatz got the win, pitching four innings.

The local team was then defeated 7-5 by Pro Player Canes-Matsie. The Heaters held a 5-4 lead after three innings, but Pro Player scored three runs in the fifth.

Baucum, Raddatz and Pals each had two hits for Effingham County. Antrim took the loss.

In their final game, the Heaters were defeated 12-2 by the Summit City Sluggers. The Sluggers used an eight-run fourth to pull away. Effingham County committed four errors.

The Heaters had just three hits – singles by Baucum, Cutts and Kalen Reardon. Cutts was the losing pitcher.

The Heaters are now 11-9-1.
