The Cross at the Crossroads will be the site for Good Friday and Easter Sunrise services.
The Cross at the Crossroads will host a Good Friday prayer service beginning at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, March 30, in the Chapel of the Cross Welcome Center.
The brief ecumenical service will be led by Pastor Roger Marshall, a Cross Foundation board member and pastor of First Baptist Church in Effingham. Music will be provided by First Presbyterian Church.
Following the prayer service, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Cross will glow “red” to signify the death of Jesus Christ. All faiths are invited to participate in this moving experience as we walk through Jesus’ last days on Earth.
On Easter Sunday, the Cross Foundation will host an outside sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. under the Cross. Pastor David McConnell, of First Christina Church, will lead the ecumenical prayer service.
In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved inside the Chapel of the Welcome Center.
