Auditions for the FACE winter production “Blithe Spirit” have been scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 10-11.

Auditions will begin at 7 p.m. both nights in the Fine Arts Room in the Ron Diehl Center at Hendelmeyer Park.

The play, written by Noel Coward, centers on the socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book.

The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his annoying and temperamental first wife, Elvira, after the séance. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles’ marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.

Things go from bad to worse as Madame Arcati is unable to de-materialize the ghost.

Casting will be done for five women and two men. The parts and approximate ages:

•Charles Condomine – age 40+

•Ruth Condomine, his second wife – age 40+

•Elvira Condomine, his first wife and ghostly presence – age 30+

•Madame Arcati, a medium – age 50+

•Doctor Bradman, a friend – age 30+

•Mrs. Bradman, his wife – age 30+
