Effingham Police Department reported the following traffic crashes with injuries or tickets. Anyone ticketed is innocent until proven guilty through a court of law.

At 2:19 p.m. on Dec. 24, a vehicle, driven by Ryan J. Boldt, 22, of Collierville, struck a vehicle, driven by Michael G. French, 54, Effingham, at Jefferson Avenue and Willow Street. A passenger in French’s vehicle, Rochelle A. French, was injured and taken by ambulance for treatment at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. Boldt was ticketed for disobeying a traffic control device.

A vehicle, driven by Brittany L. Brown, 24, St. Elmo, rear-ended a vehicle, driven by Tony R. Wimberly, 53, Kinmundy, at 11:01 a.m. Dec. 22, at Keller and Damron. Brown was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

At 2:18 p.m. Dec. 17, a vehicle, driven by Belinda M. Ernst, 64, Shumway, struck a vehicle, driven by Bradley N. Reedy, 25, Effingham, at Walmart, 1204 Avenue of Mid America. Ernst was ticketed for failure to yield and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Vehicles, driven by Mark A. Goeckner, 68, Effingham, and Karen M. Rueter, 53, Effingham, were both attempting to turn left from private driveways at 12:48 p.m. Dec. 16 on S. Henrietta when they collided. A passenger in Rueter’s vehicle, Elsie Rueter, 84, Effingham, was injured and taken by ambulance for treatment at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.

At 10:38 a.m. Dec. 16, a vehicle, driven by Richard A. Meier, 55, Effingham, struck a vehicle, driven by Deana J. Jones, 58, Effingham, at Elm and Veterans. Meier was ticketed for disobeying a stop sign.
