Effingham Police Department reported the following traffic crashes with injuries or tickets. Anyone ticketed is innocent until proven guilty through a court of law.
A vehicle, driven by Charles W. Fleming, 62, of Effingham, struck a vehicle, driven by Dennis J. Pruemer, 73, Teutopolis, at 10:31 a.m. on Sept. 26 on Fayette Avenue and Banker Street. Fleming was ticketed for failure to yield.
At 3:27 p.m. Sept. 25, a vehicle, driven by Larry W. Lindley, 76, Neoga, left the roadway at Willenborg and Mini Hills and struck and damaged a culvert and piping, owned by Kenneth Wohltman, Effingham. Lindley was injured and taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment.
At 4:51 p.m. on Sept. 24, a semi trailer truck, driven by Gamal Ahmed Ali Shaghdari, 41, Dearborn, Michigan, struck a grain truck, driven by Jeffrey A. Ruholl, 40, Effingham, at Third Street and the Interstates 57/70 northbound and eastbound exit ramp. Shaghdari was ticketed for failure to yield.
A vehicle, driven by Jade A. Rigsby, 16, Effingham, struck a vehicle, driven by Stacey J. Tebbe, 37, Teutopolis, at 4:17 p.m. Sept. 22 at Fayette and Maple. Rigsby was ticketed for failure to yield.
At 3:38 p.m. Sept. 20, a vehicle, driven by William R. Carter, 20, Charleston, rear-ended a semi driven by James A. Dilts Jr., 66, St. Joseph, Michigan, at Third and the I/57-70 westbound ramp. Carter was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
