Effingham Police Bureau of Patrol reported the following traffic crashes with injuries or tickets issued. Anyone ticketed is innocent until proven guilty through a court of law.
At 8:04 a.m. on Nov. 3, a vehicle, driven by Kimberly A. Deters, 47, of Teutopolis, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Robin J. Plummer, 38, of Effingham, at 1101 S. Willow. Plummer was injured and taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. Deters was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
A vehicle, driven by Kelly Yarbough, 32, Effingham, pulled into the path of and was struck by a vehicle, driven by Patsy D. Black, 59, Shumway, at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 2, at Fayette and Fayette Frontage Road. Both drivers were injured. Black refused treatment at the accident scene and Yarbough was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. Yarbough was ticketed for failure to yield.
At 9:29 a.m. Nov. 2, a vehicle, driven by Daniel J. Bushue, 72, Effingham, pulled into the path of and was struck by a vehicle, driven by Matthew W. Shumard, 41, Stewardson. Bushue was ticketed for disobeying a traffic control device.
A vehicle, driven by Eric W. Lewis, 40, Tower Hill, collided with a vehicle, driven by Kevin L. Weber, 61, Teutopolis, at 6:21 p.m. at Banker and Eiche. Lewis was ticketed for driving while license suspended and failure to yield.
At 11:57 a.m. Oct. 30, a vehicle, driven by Michael R. Shock, 46, Noble, struck a vehicle, driven by James P. Faber, 62, Watson, at Temple and Maple. Faber was injured but refused treatment at the scene. Shock was ticketed for disobeying a stop sign.
At 2:28 p.m. Oct. 26, a vehicle, driven by Jawaun Latham, 19, Effingham, collided with a vehicle, driven by Rachel L. Thomas, 23, Altamont, at Henrietta and Fayette. Latham was ticketed for failure to yield and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
