Effingham Police Department Bureau of Patrol reported the following traffic crashes with injuries or tickets issued. Anyone ticketed is innocent until proven guilty through a court of law.

At 8:53 p.m. on March 17, a vehicle, driven by Sophia G. Moore, 17, of Effingham, rear-ended a vehicle, driven by Elissa M. Robinson, 24, Savage, Maryland, at 204 S. Henrietta, near Lions Liquors. The impact of the collision caused Robinson’s vehicle to then rear-end a vehicle, driven by Edith B. Cornwell, Dieterich. Moore was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

At 5:06 p.m. March 12, a vehicle, driven by Melissa M. Kuhajda, 30, Effingham, rear-ended a vehicle, driven by Lawrence C. Maggiefield, 75, Chicago, at Rickelman and Raney. Kuhajda was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

A vehicle, driven by Houston E. Brown, 22, Neoga, rear-ended a vehicle, driven by Connie Rockwood, 60, Windsor, at 4:42 p.m., March 12, at Third and Rickelman. Rockwood was injured and taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. Brown was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

A vehicle, driven by Brandon M. Bryan, 18, Altamont, rear-ended a vehicle, driven by Leah M. Toliver, 24, Noble, at 1:05 p.m. at Keller and Damron on March 9. Bryan was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

At 1:12 p.m. March 9, a vehicle, driven by Taylor R. Watson, 26, Teutopolis, rear-ended a vehicle, driven by Teneale R. Clark, 22, Beecher City, at Keller and Avenue of Mid America. Watson was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

At 4:42 p.m. March 8, a vehicle, driven by Jeremiah D. Allison, 28, Paris, rear-ended a vehicle, driven by Tammie R. Miller, 46, Effingham, at U.S. Highway 40 and Outer Belt West. A passenger in Miller’s vehicle, Mary E. Evans, 66, address not listed, was injured and taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. Allison was ticketed for driving while license suspended.
