The Eastern Illinois University Business and Education Scholarship Award has been presented to Kristen Schuette, of Effingham.
This award, established by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Maskey, is administered through the EIU Foundation and presented to a full-time student majoring in business or education. Recipient must have a 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average, with preference given to a student who is actively employed in an effort to pay for his/her own education.
Schuette, the daughter of Gregg and Barbara Schuette, is a 2014 graduate of St. Anthony High School. While at Eastern, she is studying management with a human resources concentration and a minor in entrepreneurship.
The EIU Foundation, with an endowment exceeding $66.1 million, was established in 1953 and annually distributes more than 500 scholarships and awards to EIU students and faculty. All scholarships and awards are privately funded and held in trust by the Foundation.
