The St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs continued their fine play Monday by posting a 37-25 victory at Altamont in a key National Trail Conference matchup.
After a slow opening period, St. Anthony built a 21-9 advantage at intermission. Sydney Gibson scored seven of her game-high 13 points in the second period, helping the Lady Bulldogs build the double-digit lead; one they managed to maintain the rest of the way.
Abbie Schmidt and Clare McHugh both scored six points and Abby Weis pulled down seven rebounds.
The win improved St. Anthony to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the NTC. The Lady Bulldogs will return home Thursday for another conference contest with Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick. They will then host Teutopolis on Monday.
SAHS rolls over WSS
St. Anthony broke out to a 16-4 lead and rolled to a 51-25 National Trail Conference win Thursday night at Windsor/Stew-Stras.
The Lady Bulldogs had a balanced scoring attack on offense, while their defense forced 31 turnovers to help St. Anthony improved to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the NTC.
The Lady Bulldogs led 24-11 at halftime and 43-18 after three quarters.
Abby Weis scored 12 points, while Clare McHugh added 10, Olivia Clausius 9 and Meg Richards 8.
