Joyce Jeffries, 93, of Effingham, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Chapel at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, with the Rev. Pam Laing officiating. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.
Memorials may be made in loving memory of Joyce to the First Presbyterian Church in Effingham.

Joyce was born on March 3, 1923, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Wilson and Eva Lena (Chambliss) Lively. She married Charles E. Jeffries on December 6, 1942, in Belton, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Joyce was a business woman who owned and operated Effingham Parts and Services LTD (NAPA) of Effingham and Altamont for 53 years. One of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren and spending time with them. Joyce also enjoyed working in her yard. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Effingham.
Joyce is survived by her son, David M. (Julie M.) Jeffries, of Effingham; grandchildren, Michelle (Rhett Zumbahlen) Jeffries, Missy (Brent) Koester, Brian Jeffries, Brad (Laura) Jeffries, and Alex Jeffries, all of Effingham; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brothers, Morris Lively and Ed Lively; and sisters, Olive Mays and Margaret Lively.
